The Scout Network is the fifth section of the Scouting movement. From the time of Baden-Powell, there have been arrangements for young people who wanted to continue after their time in the Scout and Senior/Venture/Explorer Scout Sections - alongside special arrangements in Universities & Colleges. Eden District has just one Network.
Explorer Scouts move into Scout Network on reaching the age of 18, and may remain members until their 25th birthday. Many Network members are also Leaders, but this is entirely optional. Network members are responsible for running their own section, with Leaders acting only in an advisory role. Both senior training awards - the Queen's Scout Award and the Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award - may be gained by Network members.
