Achieve amazing things as a Scouting volunteer and help to make a real difference to young lives in your local community today.
There are hundreds of girls and boys across Eden who would benefit from the great start in life Scouting offers. But we can’t keep Scouting in local communities without your help. Which is why we’re looking for volunteers who are willing to give a little bit of their time to help us make a positive impact on the lives of young people.
You’ll take part in things you’d never expect to do. You’ll develop skills employers look for. And helping young people to improve their lives and reach their potential makes it all worthwhile.
Scouting is a real adventure for girls and boys of all ages, faiths and backgrounds. And it’s pretty amazing for our volunteers too.
Scouting has never been so popular. There are over 36,000 young people on the national waiting list because we simply don’t have enough adult volunteers to help out.
Why get involved?
So, we need more people like you to volunteer a little bit of your time. Everyone has something to give. Whether it’s organising games, making refreshments or simply giving current volunteers some support. Together we can do amazing things. And you’ll be surprised at the many ways you can get involved and help young people to grow in confidence and believe in themselves.
Scouting offers fun and friendship, challenge and everyday adventure for our 100,000 volunteers and 400,000 girls and boys in Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers across the UK. With over 200 indoor and outdoor activities from abseiling, street sports and kayaking to drama, paragliding and archery – there’s something for every young person, whatever their physical ability, faith or community background.
There’s so much more to Scouting than tying knots
There are all sorts of activities you can help out with such as sports, crafts, outdoor challenges, camp preparation and life skills. The time you spare can vary from a lot, to as little as one hour a month. Every bit of support makes a difference.
All you need to do is let us know your availability and how you would like to get involved. We’ll then match this to available opportunities within your local area as soon as we can. If you’re interested in becoming a Scout Leader, we’ll even provide you with full training on the job.
However much, or little time you put into Scouting in Eden and the surrounding area, you’ll get a lot more out! So, be prepared for fun, challenge and a very rewarding adventure.
